ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Several small businesses owners and their attorney gathered Friday at Sam’s Meat Market to send a message as the grand jury decision in the Michael Brown case nears.

“We ask for everyone’s commitment for both the protection of the right to protest and the right of businesses and residents to be protected and remain safe,” said Small Business Attorney Jay Kanzler.

Looters burst into the family owned business back in August after Michael Brown was shot to death by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson.

Sam’s Meat Market is just one of the Ferguson businesses that was damaged during the initial round of protests.
The business owners hope Ferguson remains peaceful after the grand jury decision.
