FARMINGTON, Mo. (AP) _ The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office is looking into the cause of a fire at a prison in southeast Missouri.
The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Missouri reports that firefighters were called Wednesday to the Farmington Correctional Center after smoke was detected in a control center near the administrative offices and front entrance to the medium-security prison.
Fire was found in the attic, causing moderate damage.
Farmington Fire Chief Todd Mecey says it appears that it was an accidental fire. No one was hurt.
