WASHINGTON PARK, IL (KTVI) – Fire officials are investigating a fire in Washington Park Sunday night. Flames consumed two vacant buildings on 52nd street south of Caseyville Avenue in a neighborhood of closely spaced homes.

The fire spread next door to a third home that was occupied; but firefighters were able to save the home.

At least three neighboring fire departments joined volunteer firefighters from Washington Park to fight the fire.
