Fire damages Granite City home

GRANITE CITY, Ill. – Fire heavily damages a metro-east home overnight.  Firefighters were called out around 1:00 am to a possible explosion on Edwards Street.  When they arrived the house was engulfed in flames.

It took them about 20 minutes to put out the fire.  So far, they have not confirmed how the fire started.  It’s unclear if anyone lived in the home.
