STAUNTON, IL (KTVI) - Firefighters in Illinois battled a stubborn fire overnight. It happened in Staunton, IL in the 500 block of Second Street. The fire started around midnight. Two garages and another building were fully engulfed.

Authorities say the several accelerants including acetylene and gasoline were inside the buildings. The homeowner, according to officials, collects Corvettes and also repairs them.

All three buildings were destroyed as well as several cars that were parked in the garages.  Three nearby homes did have some exterior damage from the extreme heat of the fire.

Firefighters had to return to the scene early Friday when it rekindled. That fire was quickly put out.
