Firefighters honored for rescuing 3 people from burning car

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Three St. Louis firefighters were honored Wednesday for rescuing three people from a burning car on December 20th of last year. Frank Carter, Vincent Smith and Licole McKinney were on their way to work the morning of when they came upon a crash scene.

The vehicle had crashed into a light pole and caught on fire. The firefighters used a brick and tire iron to breakout the cars windows.

They pulled the occupants from the vehicle to safety.

For their actions the firefighters received the “Liberty Mutual Firemark Award” for heroism.

Some of the victims suffered serious burns, but all three survived.
