SOUTH COUNTY, MO (KTVI)- One person was killed and two others were injured in a multi-car collision Tuesday morning in south St. Louis County. The three- car accident happened around 7:00am at the intersection of Lemay Ferry Road and Christoble, south of Mattis Road.
Authorities say a blue Dodge Neon was traveling northbound on Lemay Ferry in the inside lane when witnesses say the driver began drifting to the left, crossing the center lanes of Lemay Ferry. The driver ultimately struck a gray Chevrolet Malibu head on as it traveled southbound. Officials say the impact from the crash caused the Malibu to hit a third vehicle, also traveling south on Lemay Ferry Road.
The driver of the Dodge Neon, Kyle Knoten, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the Malibu and the man driving the third car, were transported to the hospital for treatment. Their injuries are non-life threatening.
Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction are investigating.
