Florissant teen gunned down in Spanish Lake

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – A 16-year-old was shot and killed in north county late Monday night.

According to Officer Shawn McGuire, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, the shooting occurred just after 11:20 p.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Redman Boulevard.

Police found the victim, Jamon Spates, lying in the family room of the residence with a gunshot wound to the back. Spates was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Investigators determined Spates and other individuals were walking into the home when a person fired several shots in their direction from the corner of Redman and Lavida Avenue.

No suspects or motive have been identified.
