Being a tree hugger takes on a literal meaning in Israel. The country’s Nature and Parks Authority is encouraging people to hug a tree.

They say its a way to fight loneliness during the coronavirus pandemic. The agency took to social media to arrange tours to a national park outside Tel Aviv, allowing people to embrace nature literally.

Officials say hugging trees can help people who haven’t been able to hug family and friends during the pandemic.
