Former Illinois Governor Ryan Released From Prison

KANKAKEE, IL (KTVI)— Former Illinois Governor George Ryan is officially a free man.
He was released from federal custody today after five months of home confinement.

Before that, he was in federal prison in Indiana serving a 6 and a half year sentence after being convicted in 2006 on racketeering and fraud charges.

He will now be on supervised release for the next year.
