CLAYTON, MO (KTVI) – St. Louis County Police have arrested a former Valley Park teacher for child molestation. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on Robert Woerheide, 38, for one count of sexual contact with a student, and one count of child molestation.

Police say Woerheide had driven the victim to his residence, where he had sexual contact with the victim. Police further state that Woerheide had previously been arrested for trespassing at the victims residence.

Woerheide is currently being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.

Statement from Valley Park School District Superintendent Dr. David Knes:

“First of all, our students’ safety is our top priority. Mr. Robert Woerheide is no longer an employee of the Valley Park School District. I am proud that our school board took swift and appropriate action in regard to Mr. Woerheide’s employment three weeks ago. I want to assure our students, parents and staff that we will continue to make decisions in the best interest of our students. Also, I want to thank our local police for communicating with us and keeping us informed throughout their ongoing investigation.”
