WEBSTER GROVES, MO (KTVI)– Cari Hill just finished her first year of college. The former Miss Webster Groves is using her painful past to make a real difference in the lives of other teens who are considering suicide or have been sexually abused.
Cari shared the story of how her father sexually molested her when she was 11 so other children might hear that it’s ok to tell a trusted adult. Richard Hill is now serving a 20 year prison sentence. Cari received a scholarship last year from a group called Avas Grace.
They give four year $5,000 scholarships to children who have an incarcerated parent. She also volunteers for Kids Under Twenty One… a suicide prevention hotline. Cari herself considered suicide and now uses her experience to help others.
