ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI)-- Many parents in the Francis Howell School District oppose the transfer of students from the Normandy School District, not because of racism but because of fears of violence.

That's what a Francis Howell mother of three told FOX 2 after she stood up at a town hall meeting last week and asked whether metal detectors would be installed at Francis Howell schools to protect against Normandy students who might be carrying weapons.

The Francis Howell District says it has no plans to install metal detectors or step up security because of the transfer of students from the unaccredited Normandy district.
