ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Creation of a National Blues Museum in downtown St. Louis is getting closer, now that fundraising is nearly complete.
KMOX Radio reports that all but $150,000 of the $13 million needed to begin construction has been raised.
The museum will be located in part of the old Dillard’s department store building at Sixth and Washington, a block from the city’s convention center.
Developer Amos Harris says the idea is to create a highly entertaining experience that also provides education about the blues.
Construction could start in September.
