(YOUTUBE) – The legendary giant squid or Kracken has been captured on video. A joint effort between the Discovery channel and the Japanese Broadcasting Company put the creature on film.  They spent over 400 hours in a research vessel looking for Architeuthis.  According to the website Tsunemi Kubodera and his team spotted the squid roaming the depths of the sea and then attacking the sub they were in.

You can see more of the living Kracken on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 9pm on the Discovery Channel.  That is when they air the special, “Monster Squid: The Giant Is Real” in the season finale of Curiosity.
