DETROIT, MI. (CNN) – General Motors is recalling thousands of its popular Chevy Cruzes over a potentially dangerous fire hazard. The recall involves more than 400-thousand 2011 and 2012 Chevy Cruzes made in the U.S.
The problem?
Flammable liquids, like oil, could become trapped in the engine compartment, causing a fire risk.
The automaker says it will inspect and modify the engine shield under the vehicle.
There’s also a second safety recall involving only a handful of Cruzes from the first recall. The car company wants to inspect possibly faulty welds in the rear end of the car.
So far, GM says it doesn’t know of any crashes or injuries related to either recall.
