GM recalls 780,000 compact cars

(KTVI) – General Motors is recalling hundreds of thousands of compact cars.

Company officials said 780,000 vehicles could have faulty ignition switches can cause the engine to shut off unexpectedly. It can also shut off airbags.

The company is recalling the Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models made between 2005 and 2007. If you own one of these vehicles, you are asked to contact your dealership or the General Motors Recalls page.
