ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The leaders of the Great Rivers Greenway have commissioned a $330,000 study to develop the north river trail that runs along the St. Louis riverfront.

The hope is to kick-start development on the north riverfront that would include a kayak park, rock climbing, loft apartments, beer gardens, theater, and bike shops.

Previous studies have shown the potential of developing the north riverfront; but this is the first time an organization has stepped in to purchase property in the area to help start development.

The project would be bound by east of I-70, from the Eads Bridge to the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge.
