FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (KTVI) – Witnesses say a truck carrying hay, “exploded into a ball of fire.” The accident is on eastbound I-64 near St. Clair Square. Eastbound lanes of the highway are shut down.
There is more than one fire in the area. It is possible that flames from the truck jumped to another location.
Firefighters are on the scene. They are working to put out the flames. It is unclear if anyone has been injured in the fire.
The highway is expected to be shut down for several hours.
