ST. LOUIS– Did you hear a tornado siren about 10 A.M. Tuesday? It is not because of severe weather but Missouri and Illinois holding a drill.
It is also a reminder for you and your family to review your severe weather plan. The drill is part of Severe Weather Week.
There was some confusion after an alert was sent about the tornado drill. The language in it said “Tornado Warning.”
“There has been confusion this morning with our test of the tornado warning system as part of the tornado drill. There was a malfunction between the NWS & the Weather Emergency Alert (WEA) system. The test warning should have not activated WEA. We apologize for the inconvenience,” states a tweet from the National Weather Service in St. Louis.
