ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Heroin is the region’s deadliest illegal drug. That’s according to a new report from the St. Louis County Health Department.

There were 99-heroin deaths through the third week of December 2015. In 2014 there were 110 deaths from the drug.

White men ages 25 to 44 have the highest death rate from heroin. The majority of the cases were found around St. Ann, Berkeley, Overland and Mehlville.
