ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  A former Hillsdale lieutenant will spend the next 46 months in jail  followed by three years of probation.

A federal judge sentenced Lieutenant Parrish Swanson Thursday morning.  In August, Swanson pleaded guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to distribute heroin and attempt to distribute heroin.

Federal investigators say Swanson and a second officer, Raymond Stephens, helped a suspected drug dealer rob a drug courier in the City of Hillsdale.

Stephens also pleaded guilty and will be sentenced on Friday.
