(KTVI) – Tropical Storm warnings have been issued for Humberto. It will most likely become the first Atlantic hurricane of the season.

The Weather Channel says the storm formed on the Eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean near Cape Verde Islands off the West coast of Africa. The storm has a high potential for gathering strength by midweek, allowing it to become a hurricane.

The storm is moving in a Northwest direction making it not a threat to the Caribbean Sea or the United States.
