I-64 to close Monday for second half of Boone Bridge demolition

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Interstate 64 will close over the Missouri River Monday for the second half of the Daniel Boone Bridge demolition.

At 9:45 a.m. on March 7th, all lanes of east and westbound I-64 will close between Boone’s Crossing and Route K in St. Charles County.

The lanes and ramps will reopen once debris has been removed. According to MoDOT, the interstate will be closed for at least one hour.

At 9:30 a.m., the ramps from Chesterfield Airport Road and North Outer Road to westbound I-64 will close. Then at 9:45 a.m., the ramps from Route 94 and Research Park to eastbound I-64 and the ramp from Boone’s Crossing to westbound I-64 will close as well.

If you'd like to watch the demolition feel free to park at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex located at 17925 North Outer 40 Road. Parking is at the west end, between the A Fields parking lot.

Those attending should be prepared to walk down the Monarch Levee Trail for about one mile to the posted viewing area.

There will be a no fly zone in place due to the proximity to Spirit of St. Louis Airport.
