(KTVI)– Illinois pension reform passes in both houses during a special session Tuesday in Springfield.
State pensions are $100 million short.
Twenty percent of the state’s budget goes into the pension system.
Tuesday the speaker of the house said pension costs are “too rich for Illinois”.
The bill now goes to Governor Pat Quinn’s desk for his signature.
