Illinois State Police increasing patrols during holiday travel

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Illinois State Police and the Missouri Highway Patrol are preparing for holiday travel on the roads. Police say the weekend leading up to Thanksgiving holiday is generally one of the busiest travel holiday periods of the year.

There will be stepped up enforcement along busy routes with officers cracking down on speeding, DUI, seatbelt use, and distracted driving.
