Smoke from Cahokia house fire can be seen for over a mile

CAHOKIA, Ill. – Firefighters from several departments in the metro east spent Tuesday morning fighting a house fire near the intersection of Cynthia Drive at Camp Jackson in Cahokia.

Two people were inside the home when the fire began but they made it out safely. It’s believed one of the people suffered minor burns on their hands.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
