Infant remains discovered in north county subdivision

NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - Human remains located in a north county subdivision belong to an infant, the St. Louis County Medical Examiner said Tuesday.

According to Sgt. Shawn McGuire, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, officers were called to Behlman Lake Court on the night of April 15 after people fishing in a lake behind homes discovered the remains.

One man said he was fishing at the lake the afternoon of April 14th and noticed a small maroon duffle bag floating near a drain.

He said he typically pulls debris out of the water was but something was telling him not to touch this bag.

The next day he heard that human remain were found at the lake. He said he made a few phone calls and discovered that someone had opened the bag and found human remains and black curly hair.

St. Louis county police have not identified the remains sex, age or cause of death. They said they have no missing infant cases and are asking anyone with information to contact St. Louis County Police or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371- TIPS.
