O’FALLON, IL (KTVI) – A fight between a motorist and his female passenger leads to a multi vehicle crash and one death in O’Fallon, Illinois.

This all happened shortly before 9:30 pm Monday night on east Route 50.

Police say an argument between a couple led to the death of an innocent motorist.

O’Fallon Illinois police say they first received a 911 call about a woman jumping from the cab of moving semi-truck in front of the McDonald’s on east Route 50.

When officers responded to the scene they were soon diverted to a five car pileup less than a mile down the highway.

Police say the semi-truck had caused the chain reaction crash.  One of the vehicles flipped over killing the driver, 67-year-old Cheryl Culver.

Three others were injured.

The portion of the highway involved was closed all night for accident reconstruction investigators.

Once the investigation is complete the truck driver could faces charges.

Police say at this point they know he caused the crash, they just don't know his mindset.

Detectives have also been interviewing witnesses and checking with local businesses for possible surveillance video.

The names of the truck driver and his passenger have not been released.

Police say they are from Augusta Georgia.
