(KTVI) – Authorities are back on the scene of a Glen Carbon property where the body of an elderly woman was found frozen just last week.

Investigators have not said much about what they’re looking for, but say it’s not related to the woman’s death.
Wednesday morning, Glen Carbon police were securing the property of Mary Kampwerth, 83.  The search of her property started on Tuesday.  Investigators were at the home well into the night with digging equipment.

The search appeared to be focused on a pond in the backyard.  Both Glen Carbon and Illinois State Police were on the scene.

The search eventually ended because of cold temperatures. The Glen Carbon police chief says the search started after a tip came into their office but would not elaborate on what kind of tip or the kind of crime authorities are investigating.

Kampwerth’s body was found in the driveway of her home on Saturday. Authorities believe the body could have been there for several days.
