(FOX NEWS) – Iran deploys a destroyer in the Caspian Sea Sunday, according to state TV.  President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurating the guided missile destroyer in Anzali, about 510 miles away from Tehran.

It’s a domestically built ship, Iran has been producing its own weapons and jets since it started to create a self-sufficient military in 1992.

Ahmadinejad claims the launch is meant to bolster peace and friendship in the oil-rich region.

The nations bordering the Caspian sea disagree on how the body of water should be divided.
