(KTVI) – Actor James Caan made an appearance on Arsenio Hall on Tuesday night. He has a great story to tell about former All-Star Cardinal 3rd baseman Mike Shannon and announcer Jack Buck.

The two were at Caan’s house one day, and they took his son Scott to the Dodger’s game. They got invited to manager Tommy Lasorda’s office where he offered the Caan’s son Dodger gear. Scott refused the offer saying, “No thank you!” LaSorda blew up and said, “Do you know how many kids would die for this stuff!”

Afterwords, Caan asked his son why he didn’t want the take the gifts. After all, he knew that he really wanted the Dodger hats, bats and shirts.

His son Scott said, “Any other day dad. But, we came with these guys (Referring to Mike Shannon and Jack Buck).”
