Jefferson County resident apply for disaster assistance from recent flooding and storms

FESTUS, MO (KTVI) – Sunday, July 12th disaster assistance agencies gathered in Jefferson County to provide a one stop shop for residents to get and apply for assistant from the recent flooding and storms that hit the county.

The one stop shop was located at the Telegraph Intermediate School, located at 1265 Dooling Hollow Road, in Festus from 1 pm to 6 pm Sunday.

The multi-agency resource center featured state, private and non-profit organizations to assist residents. SEMA, the American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Missouri Department of Social Services, Missouri Department of Mental Health, Missouri Department of Insurance and the Jefferson County Department Health Department will be on hand to provide assistance to residents.

The Jefferson County Health Department provided free tetanus shots to residents affected recently by the flooding in the county.

Child care was also provided free of charge on-site to families while they sought assistance. Food w was also provided by Operation BBQ Relief.
