CAHOKIA, IL (KTVI) – The St. Clair State’s Attorney says his office, along with the County Clerk’s Voter Integrity Task Force is investigating the results of last week’s Cahokia mayor’s race.

Curtis McCall Jr defeated incumbent Gary Cornwell and two other challengers. The state’s attorney won’t comment further on the nature of the investigation.

This isn’t the first time the city’s elections have been under the legal microscope. Five years ago, two former village trustees and two other residents were sentenced to jail time and probation for falsifying absentee ballots and voting illegally.
