ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A lawsuit filed against the Schnucks supermarket chain by its insurance company has been dropped. Liberty Mutual was trying to avoid paying damages related to the widespread credit card data breach.

A Schnucks spokesperson says Liberty Mutual and Schnucks have agreed to discuss alternatives to litigation.

The credit crime affected an estimated 2.4 million credit cards.
