LINCOLN COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – A 44-year-old Silex man was charged in connection with the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators were made aware of the allegations in February. The victim said her arms and legs had been bound with duct tape and that her assailant used an object to sexually assault her.

The suspect, identified as Frank Soles, initially denied the allegations of sexual abuse during an interview with police detectives.

Authorities applied for a search warrant and found items in Soles’ house which corroborated the victim’s side of the story. A loaded rifle was also discovered under Soles’ mattress. Earlier that month, Soles had been sentenced to probation for illegal possession of a firearm.

Prosecutors charged Soles with first-degree statutory sodomy and unlawful possession of firearm.

Soles remains in custody at Lincoln County Jail under $100,000 cash-only bond. His probation status was also revoked and he’s been issued a revocation warrant with $20,000 cash-only bond.
