BELLEVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Providing students with a hands-on look at careers in construction trades. Metro Construction Career Expo in Belleville this week to help address an acute workforce shortage in the construction industry.
Students and families have a chance to get a clearer picture of various jobs in construction trades that also have high wages. The expo is open every day through Thursday at Belle-Clair Fairgrounds.
Dates and times:
- Monday, Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Tuesday, Nov. 3 thru Thursday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon – 2 p.m. each day.
- Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. – An evening session will be held to accommodate interested parents
- Thursday, Nov. 5, 12 p.m. – Dean Guido, regional director of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship, is scheduled to visit the expo and be available for interviews.
