WASHINGTON– After a five month stall, Loretta Lynch will be sworn-in as Attorney General today. The United States senate finally confirmed her last week in a 56-to-43 vote. Republicans had refused to bring her nomination up for a vote until democrats cut a deal on abortion language in an unrelated bill.
Lynch is the first African-American woman to be attorney general. She replaces Eric Holder who stepped down after six years on the job.
