Major Case Squad investigating St. Clair County homicide

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, IL (KTVI)- The Major Case Squad is investigating a homicide Wednesday morning in St. Clair County.

Authorities say a man was found shot around 11:16 p.m. in the 100 block of Amelia Drive in unincorporated Cahokia. The victim, Leroy D. Short, 19, was transported to a St. Louis hospital for treatment. He died a short time later from his injuries.

A vehicle was reported fleeing from the area. There is no description available at this time.
