BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS, MO (KTVI) - Major Case Squad detectives are called in after a man is found dead. Investigators have been working out of the Police Department all day as they piece together what happened.
A man called police at around 10am about gun fire near his home at the 10,500 block of Lilac. According to investigators that neighbor checked outside and found a man down in a nearby yard.
Police arrived at that home in the 10,400 block of Gardo court. The victim, a black male in his mid to late 30's, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds. He was headed towards a back door.
So far police have not identified the victim, a suspect, or motive in the case. They`re still trying to notify the victim's family.
Detectives also say this happened near Riverview Gardens High School. They say the school is not connected to the case.
