JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – Tuesday the Major Case Squad and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department are continuing their search for 25-year-old William Harris.  Harris is a person of interest in the death of 3-year-old girl in Barnhart, Missouri.

Police say Harris was the last person known to have the child his care before the child’s mother  found her body in their Dry Creek Road home Monday morning after returning home from work. Harris is the mother’s boyfriend and lives at the home.

William Harris is described as a white male, age 25, five feet four inches tall weighing about 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police began searching the area around the crime scene and talking to neighbors.

Investigators have not release the girl`s name or details about the death.

But a Major Case Squad spokesman said the child had not been shot or stabbed but there were obvious signs of injuries to the body.

Police say a one-year-old girl who was also in the home at the time was not hurt and is in protective custody.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office 636-797-6234 or at 636-797-5515.
