ALTON, Ill. (KPLR) – Alton Police Chief Jason Simmons held a news conference Tuesday to announce the results of a major crime sweep in Alton. Though the efforts of Alton police officers and information received from Alton residents, more than 20 pounds of marijuana, crack, powder cocaine and 7 guns were taken off the streets of Alton, along with the arrests of nine individuals.
$85,000 in forfeiture assets have been seized that included vehicles, home electronic and person property.
