BENTON, Mo. (AP) _ A Sikeston man is facing murder charges for an accident that killed a woman.
The Sikeston Standard Democrat (http://bit.ly/SU15Zy ) reports that 47-year-old Mark Lee Jobe was originally charged with first-degree manslaughter following the July accident that killed 53-year-old Kimberly Maclin. The charge was upgraded to second-degree murder earlier this month because authorities now believe Jobe had been using drugs before the accident.
Police say Jobe was speeding and ran a stop light before striking Maclin’s car. Jobe is jailed on $75,000 cash-only bond. His attorney, George Gilmore Jr., declined comment.
