DELLWOOD, MO – St. Louis County Police are investigating the shooting death of a father killed on Father`s Day. Officers from the North County precinct arrived at a home on the 1900 block of Prior Drive in Dellwood around 7 a.m. and found a man dead from at least one gun shot wound.

Terrell Greer, 32, was shot after 6 a.m., according to his family. Greer's parents said he was a beloved son and father, and they want to know why someone would want to hurt him.

Greer's mother, Marlyn Greer Dixon, said she got a call from a woman saying her son had been shot.

"She just said that all she heard was gunshots," she said. "She thought they were fireworks, and once she realized she was feeling something come past her, she hit the floor, crawled to the closet. That`s when she saw her mother crawling around to the closet. After the gun shots stop, that`s when they went and found my son in her mother`s room dead.'

The department's Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is handling the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS (8477) or the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.
