Man Found Shot to Death In East St. Louis

EAST ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - East St. Louis police have a murder on their hands this morning.
The victim found early this morning shot and killed on the grounds of a school.

Investigators say the victim was less than 100 yards from his home and was riding his bicycle when he was attacked possibly by two people.
This all went down a little after 12:15am this morning on 18th Street near Summit.
Police have not released the victim`s name but do say he is 31 years old.

Investigators say the man`s body was found in a field at what used to A.M. Jackson Elementary School.
East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks says the facility is now a charter school for students who have behavior problems.

It's called "East St. Louis Youthbuild."
Authorities tell us a resident looked out after hearing the shots and saw two people standing over a man then walking away.
Police have no motive in the murder.

Investigators tell me St. Clair county Sheriff`s deputies took one person into custody.
That person is being called a person of interest in this case.
Police are still looking for at least one other person as they try to piece all of the facts together.
