STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. (AP) – An eastern Missouri man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing a man in an alleged murder-for-hire case.

Jacob Feldman of Washington County pleaded guilty Monday in the shooting death of Jerry Litherland of Cadet, Mo. The case was prosecuted by Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster’s office.

Feldman shot Litherland with an assault rifle in 2009 as Litherland entered his own home. Authorities say Litherland’s wife, Nanette, conspired with Feldman and two others to kill her husband and collect insurance money. Court cases for Nanette Litherland and the other two suspects are pending.
