ST. LOUIS (AP) _ A man who was shot in St. Louis last month has died just months after his son was fatally shot in a separate shooting.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports 53-year-old Luther Finch Sr. died Wednesday of his injuries. According to police, he was shot through a second-floor window of his home on Aug. 25 while apparently trying to stop someone from breaking into his pickup parked outside.

Finch’s son, 34-year-old Luther Finch Jr., was fatally shot in the chest on July 1 in St. Louis County. Police say he was found in the front yard of a home.

Police say they are still investigating both shootings.
