Man rescued after being stranded on top of pick up truck in Meramec River

EUREKA, MO (KTVI)- A man was rescued and his truck was saved from flood waters Wednesday morning in Eureka. It happened along Route 109 near what was once an Ace Hardware store.

Fire crews arrived to find him trapped on hood of his pick up truck in the Meramec River. Sources say he’s a store owner who was trying to save his inventory.

The rescue team attached a rope to pull the truck out of the water. The man successfully steered it through the flatbed window while his legs dangling behind.
