Man was shot and his car was stolen in Greater Ville neighborhood


ST. LOUIS – A man was shot and his car was stolen at 2:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said a 59-year-old man was filling up his car at Midwest Petroleum located at 4216 Natural Bridge Avenue near Clarence Avenue when the gunman shot him in the stomach and stole his car.

The victim told police he was on his way to the pay window of the gas station when the suspect approached him on foot, grabbed a gun and shot him. That’s when the suspect took the victim’s 2010 Buick Lacrosse and fled the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was listed in critical/stable condition.

The suspect is described as a Black man that is 5’10” – 6’0″ tall with a medium build. Police said he was wearing a dark t-shirt, khaki pants, a dark baseball cap turned backwards, and a face covering.
