ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- It's a music machine with a sound like no other.

It once was the stuff of George Randalls pipe dreams. He calls it his music machine.

A combination of accordion, saxophone drums, tambourine and organ.

It's poetry in motion with circuits and tubes, wires and valves.

His Mortier, as it was known, was built in Belgium in 1936 and it's been noteworthy ever since.

After World War I the Mortier Company was employing 80 people building 20 music machines every year.

But by 1948 the company was kaput. But from the late 1800's until world war two, the band organ was on top.
